Decision framework
Men's Health Buyer's Guide
A practical, plain-language framework to help patients organize their research. This is not medical advice and is not a recommendation of any specific provider, device, or procedure.
1. Start with diagnosis, not products
Symptoms like ED, low libido, or curvature can have many causes. Investing in evaluation first reduces the risk of paying for the wrong intervention.
2. Map all of your options
- Lifestyle and cardiometabolic optimization
- Oral medications, vacuum devices, injections
- Hormone evaluation and treatment
- Surgical options when other treatments are inadequate
3. Vet the provider — not just the procedure
- Board certification and relevant training
- Case volume for the specific procedure
- Documented complication and revision rates
- Hospital accreditation and infrastructure
- In-person evaluation prior to surgery
4. Read the fine print
- Written, itemized cost breakdown
- What is — and is not — included
- Revision, removal, and complication policy
- Cancellation, refund, and rescheduling terms
- Informed consent in a language you understand
5. Beware of red flags
- Guarantees of size, performance, or specific outcomes
- High-pressure sales tactics or limited-time discounts
- Reluctance to discuss complications, revision rates, or limitations
- No in-person evaluation prior to surgery
Individual outcomes vary. Candidacy is consultation-dependent. Consultation with a qualified physician is required.
